Welcome to the Lange Park Residents Association (LAPRA) website

The Lange Park Residents Association (LAPRA) is a non-governmental, non-profit organization with the mission to make Lange Park the best residential community in Trinidad and Tobago. LAPRA serves to promote: peace, happiness and tolerance among residents; enjoyment of life and property; cleanliness and physical enhancement; the improvement of the social and economic welfare of members and residents; loyalty to the community and the establishment of Lange Park as a model residential area.

Over the years LAPRA has sought the welfare of all residents. Its members have worked tediously to keep Lange Park the beautiful, healthy community we know it to be. They have sought to maintain Lange Park as a residential community by counteracting attempts to use the park for commercial purposes, providing entertainment and recreational opportunities for residents, building community development and aiding in the physical development of Lange Park, alleviating traffic congestion and other safety hazards, facilitating the usage of jogging/ walking tracks as well as counteracting simple inconveniences such as gushing water lines and insisting on proper garbage disposal.

Animals and Fireworks

The following is an article by the Trinidad and Tobago Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (TTSPCA) published in the Trinidad and Tobago Newsday on Friday 31st August, 2007.

Fireworks are not animal-friendly. Invariably when communities celebrate with fireworks, the local animal shelter – Trinidad and Tobago Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (TTSPCA) – and other animal aid organisations are overwhelmed by the “fallout”, which manifests in an increased number of stray animals and reports of injuries and trauma to those animals. Dogs are brought to the shelter with paws bloody from running or torn skin from tearing through a backyard fence, or worse, crippled from being hit by a car. Animals who are re-united with their families are indeed fortunate.

Residents call for more police patrols
Trinidad Guardian
Published: Tuesday, December 13, 2011
Lange Park residents are complaining that there are not enough police patrols in the area. Disgruntled residents are upset over Saturday’s murder of Joshua Henry, 72, who was discovered bound to a chair in his home with wounds to the head and face. When the Guardian visited the scene on Sunday afternoon, relatives said the matter was being investigated by the police. Residents are calling for more police patrols in the area. Rajiv Dipnarinesingh, 42, a Chaguanas businessman who lives in Lange Park, said the weak police presence in the area had residents worried. He said residents of the upscale community were victims of daylight break-ins and hold-ups. “Crime is getting worse in the area,” the businessman said.
